Private Torrents
In the torrent
info map, a private torrent will have the key
private set to the integer
1. This makes it a "private" torrent.
Private torrents should not use
PEX or
DHT or any other method of peer discovery. They must only use the
trackers that are provided in the
.torrent file. Often these trackers will have a pass key in the URL attributes.
Private torrents are not compatible with
magnet links.
